Nimbin Youth Centre (NYC) our new youth space!

We are excited to announce that Nimbin Youth has secured a space at the Nimbin Community Centre! This is a huge step forward for us and we couldn’t be more excited to share this news with our community.

Our new home at the Nimbin Community Centre will be a safe haven for young people to hang out, do their homework, have a free feed and access various programs and referrals to other services. This space represents our commitment to fostering a supportive environment where youth can thrive, feel heard and be valued.

Who are we?

We are Nimbin Youth, driven by the dedication of Rain and Wick. Our foundation is supported by Remote Village, a social enterprise committed to reinvesting in community initiatives. Rain and Wick, the founders of The Aether Agency, bring their expertise in multimedia, website building, design and social media marketing. With a focus on not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, we align our mission to help others, especially in the digital world.

For over three years, Remote Village has been helping people across Australia and with complete transparency in our funding and accounting, we ensure that 100% of donations go directly back into supporting Nimbin Youth. Rain and Wick are currently volunteering their time to bring this vision to life, driven by their passion for advocating for young people and responding to their needs and wants.

Our commitment and vision

At present, Rain and Wick have been personally funding Nimbin Youth and we are committed to continuing this support to ensure our community has a dedicated space for its young people. However, we need your help. We are asking for donations and pledges to assist with the rent and outgoings of the youth space. Our long-term goal is to become incorporated, but until then, we are focused on steady, sustainable growth.

Behind the scenes, we have been working hard to network with organisations such as Headspace, Social Futures, Rekindling the Spirit, Nimbin Central School, Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre, and Lismore City Council. Our aim is to bring these services to Nimbin, understanding the transportation challenges faced by our community.

Secured grants and future plans

We are proud to announce that we have secured two grants: one for a Coding, Design, & Launch Your Own Website program from the NSW Government and another for Youth Fest, a festival for youth, by youth, from FRRR. Additionally, Rain has personally received a grant to attend the LoveBites Facilitator training, enabling us to deliver the LoveBites program to our young people.
